Il Comitato che fornisce orientamento scientifico si \u00e8 riunito per la sua ultima sessione dell&#8217;anno il 1 dicembre 2023 nei locali dell&#8217;InnovOcean Campus collegato al Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) a Ostenda. Several talks addressed issues around the Belgian Indicator Report on Marine Research and Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Patricia gave a short talk about a cross-section of\u00a0<em>Mundus maris<\/em>\u00a0activities in 2023, which were contributions to the Ocean Decade agenda in one way or another. The focus was on promoting ocean literacy through a combination of accessible science with the arts, whenever possible. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Mundusmaris2023Patricia.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The slides are available\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ocean Decade Committee is also interested to support the update of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/activities\/presenting-the-fishbase-app-at-the-symposium-in-tervuren\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">FishBase Guide app<\/a>\u00a0in response to user feedback. It&#8217;s all about enhancing user experience and promote the use of this educational tool with potential to raise awareness of minimum reproductive sizes of fish species, particularly those for human consumption. Respecting the minimum sizes everywhere would be a major contribution towards recovering many overfished populations.
