The concert was hosted at the Flemish Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tour &amp; Taxis complex in Brussels, home to the National Committee for the Ocean Decade for Belgium and the Flemish UNESCO Commission.  <\/span><em><span lang=\"en-GB\">Mundus <\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">m<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">aris<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"en-GB\">, a member of the Committee, contributes through its scientific, educational, and artistic initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Following a significant meeting dedicated to oceanic matters and marking the start of UNESCO Day, the concert fostered an atmosphere of serenity and reflection, promoting blue knowledge and wisdom. The Dusk String Quartet \u2014 comprising violinists Hugo Ranilla de Castro and Flora Campbell-Tiech, violist Thomas Wilkinson, and cellist Sara Font\u00e1n Ferreira \u2014 enchanted an audience of representatives from ocean initiatives in Belgium and international partners with their inspiring and varied program <\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">me<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9359\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DuskStringQuartet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DuskStringQuartet-200x113.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DuskStringQuartet-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DuskStringQuartet-400x226.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.mundusmaris.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DuskStringQuartet.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/>The concert featured a collection of compositions specifically written for string quartet, each piece capturing the essence of the sea or ocean. The concert was a unique musical voyage with &#8220;Oceanic Echoes\u00a8, toward the profound beauty and mystery of the oceans with the expressive medium of a string quartet. This event has offered an unforgettable auditory experience, celebrating the ocean through a captivating and intimate performance.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\"><span lang=\"nl-NL\"><strong>Programme Highlights<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">&#8220;<strong>Views of the Sea<\/strong>&#8221; by Eduard Toldr\u00e1 (1921):<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\"> Subtitled &#8216;Poetic Evocations,&#8217; this piece reflects on the emotions stirred by the sea, portraying its serene and tumultuous moods through the composer&#8217;s memories and feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">&#8220;<strong>Water Music<\/strong>&#8221; by Georg Friedrich H\u00e4ndel (1717):<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\"> Although not explicitly about the sea, this Baroque masterpiece&#8217;s flowing melodies and majestic rhythms evoke images of elegance, festivity, and the grandeur of water.
