The Sustainable Development Goal 14 aims at restoring a healthy and productive ocean that can continue providing food and many essential ecosystems services. Various forms of pollution form major threats already addressed in international agreements. Curbing ubiquitous plastic pollution still needs a treaty and its enforcement.
